Installing ffmpeg in Ubuntu 12

This is the most straight forward guide I know of:

They can be copied and pasted into the terminal.

I had to do one additional step to tell ffmpeg where some libraries were on my computer, and then it worked on both a normal Ubuntu install and Virtual Box instance.
